      Verdict

      Several return from lay-offs carry penalties for earlier wins. Maxident’s success came on heavy ground in April while Gather Ye Rosebuds struggled in the Musidora at York having made a winning debut at Newbury. But KINGFISHER KING beat a subsequent winner when scoring at Salisbury in May and may come out best having been gelded during the interim. Something was amiss with King Of The Plains last time but he’d shown decent form before that and is preferred to Clash Of The Ash.
