Several arrive in fine form but Jim Goldie’s yard has won two of the three previous renewals and SHINE ON BRENDAN is taken go close. The latter was upped in class last time but included a double here when winning four times earlier in the year and is preferred to stablemate Ayr Poet. The latter drops down in trip but Retirement Beckons escapes a penalty for last week’s course and distance success having earlier beaten subsequent 7f winner Breckland at Ayr.
