Verdict
Duke Of Yorkshire won this last year when 6lb higher. He’s only run twice this season and his stable is in better form now. Donnachies Girl won the 2017 renewal when a pound higher but she’s not managed to get her head in front in the last 18 months and was a beaten favourite at Ayr last month. CORTON LAD is another on a long losing run but he’s also a previous course and distance winner and has tumbled down the weights. He’s not been disgraced over inadequate trips so far this year so gets the nod ahead of last week’s Ripon third Be Perfect, who is also an infrequent winner.
