Verdict
J R Stevenson, Les Arcs and Catalini are the three to concentrate here with the latter just getting the nod. Mick Channon's gelding is still a maiden but has put up some gallant efforts in defeat and looks primed for a good run following an excellent second behind Sweet Reply at Brighton. J R Stevenson missed a stronger engagement over the week-end and must come into the reckoning, especially as he is well treated on official ratings. Les Arcs was backed as if defeat was out of the question at Beverley last week but tied up in the closing stages and Rotuma swooped past to win by three lengths. This represents a drop in class and no doubt the punters will be out to recoup their losses. Of the others Munaawashat an impressive winner of a similar race over course and distance must also be in the shake up, but under today's conditions Catalini looks the one to be on.
