      Verdict

      If Mirant has learnt to settle better then he could surprise some of the previous winners in this field. Well thought of by connections he has twice been beaten when sent off favourite but was not disgraced on either occasion. Pulling too hard last time out having previously fallen at the last on his hurdling debut when looking like an easy winner he could go close at a decent price. Far Pavilions has gone from strength to strength this season with wins at Catterick and Mussleburgh. He will need to improve again to land this under his double penalty but his trainer is in good form and he should run well. Negresko is the unknown factor here having won some races in the French provinces. Tried at chasing last time out this return to hurdles will help and he could go well especially if there is stable support in the betting ring.
