Blonde Streak can pay to support ahead of Taakeed, Sew 'n' so Character, and Goodbye Mr Bond to name but three in a wide-open handicap. Blond Streak has conditions in her favour today as all three of her wins so far have been over a mile on tracks with galloping straights, and she does not mind a bit of cut either. David Barron's filly is also well handicapped, being only two-pound higher than when scoring at York last July, and there was plenty of encouragement to be gleaned from her recent reappearance at Ripon where she just failed to hold on from Cesare on what was her first outing since November. She should comfortably hold Goodbye Mr Bond, third at Ripon and held on today's terms, but Taakeed gets a chance to atone after his disastrous run at Newmarket where he was restless in the stalls and was then practically pulled up with two furlongs to go. It turned out that he had injured himself in the stalls, and he is out to prove that he has a bright future after earlier hacking up at Ripon. The three-year-old will find this older opposition tough though and he is passed over. Sew 'n' so Character normally goes well here but was unlucky on his last visit and should not be ruled out entirely, but Blond Streak caught the eye on her return and can go one better.
