Verdict

A cracking contest where HATTON FLIGHT can recover from his Ascot mishap by returning with a win, while Drill Sergeant is respected and Hevelius is among many who could go very well. The selection parted company with William Buick early in the piece in the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap, won by Drill Sergeant, at the Royal meeting. The latter has gone up 5lbs for his win, while Hatton Flight remains on the mark of 99 from which he started that day. Prior to the mishap he had run-up a hat-trick over this trip and he looks to have more improvement to come. Hevelius is open to plenty of improvement himself and can certainly build on his handicap debut now stepped up in trip. This is much tougher than the claimer won last time by Munsef, while Spring Jim has gone up 7lbs for a York win and this will test his mettle. Just Lille only just stays this far and although she looks well handicapped she may struggle in a truly run contest. Yes Mr President won't have any trouble with stamina but the handicapper may now be in control, and Hatton Flight can come good once more.
