    Verdict

Set The Trend won this last year but has a tough task on today's worse terms and Intransigent makes more appeal. The latter has been running well without success in competitive races and may just have the edge on Spiritual Star. Bear Behind and Smarty Socks are harder to fancy on recent form but a chance is taken on FIREBEAM bouncing back. He was way below par in a couple of starts at Meydan early in the year but won this in 2011 and is perfectly capable of landing this year's renewal if Charlie Appleby has him back to his best.
