Verdict
Spanish Archer, handled with exemplary patience by James Fanshawe, now tackles just a seventh start in three seasons. Presumably he has issues but is a talented gelding who could well improve again after a battling Doncaster success last month. However, the concession of 9lb to SINJAARI (NAP) may prove too onerous. The Haggas colt has run well in a trio of classy, competitive handicaps since breaking his maiden and can be reasonably expected to progress further in the hands of his top handler. He should go very close. Epaulement has a major task at the head of the weights but has had a good season in tough handicaps and can be competitive again.
