      Verdict

      If this race has not come too soon for Shadow Dancing following her Vodafone Oaks third and Ribblesdale Stakes second, then she must take all the beating. Mellow Park was less than two lengths behind her at Epsom, had previously won the Lupe Stakes and has scope for improvement but has only raced on easy ground. Birdie won the Lingfield Oaks Trial in a first-time visor with Lady's Secret around four lengths behind. Jalousie battled to a Listed win at York and this trip should suit her better but Shadow Dancing is the one to beat.
