        Verdict

        Etienne Gerard beat Diatomic easily enough in a maiden handicap at Ripon, though the latter re-opposes on better terms. But LUCY THE PAINTER has the stronger form with a win at Ffos Las last month and there should be more to come from Peter Makin's filly. Mo Henry was second at Wolverhampton last time but tends to save his best for that track and Lady Desire may prove a bigger danger as she continues to slide down the weights.
