In depth

Verdict

After a spell over hurdles, SPECIAL MIX won for the first time on the Flat when successful at Pontefract last month. Lightly-raced for his age, Mick Easterby's charge can go in again raised only 3lb. Gran Maestro looks a threat having gone close at Newcastle off today's mark last week but he has a length to make up with Breakheart on earlier running over track and trip. The latter finished runner-up on that occasion and makes more appeal than the returning Taro Tywod and course winner Call of Duty.
