This looks a competitive handicap with four of the twelve runners having scored on their last start. The pick of them could just be San Deng, who confirmed the promise of his reappearance when winning a decent contest at Salisbury over today's trip. San Deng hasn't got many miles on the clock and this Averti gelding should be capable of following up off his five pounds higher mark. Whitethorne is thriving at present and Richard Fahey's filly is on a hat trick after two wins at Carlisle, but a combination of this extra furlong and a five pound penalty may just be enough to halt her winning run. Along The Nile would have an excellent chance on his recent Pontefract victory, but Lynda Ramsden's gelding seems to need everything to drop right for him and may not get his way here. Worth Abbey's recent win came on the sand at Wolverhampton, so we take San Deng to continue his improvement and score again here.
