Verdict

YEOMAN SPIRIT can see off Chance Du Roy and Young Albert. The booking of Jason Maguire this afternoon appears highly significant and with ground to suit, he can leave behind a modest run at Uttoxeter last time out. Chance Du Roy is relatively unexposed. He travelled well for a long way on seasonal reappearance at Newbury before a lack of match fitness took its toll. Young Albert is capable though frustrating. He let down his supporters again at Ayr and is now two years without a win. Catterick winner, Greenbelt has struggled off similar marks since. Smugglers Bay is tried without headgear having raced exclusively in blinkers since last November. Star Beat reverts to hurdling having failed to take advantage of a lower chasing mark. The Hairy Lemon is potentially well treated versus his chasing rating. Front running Curahee has only won once but if allowed a soft lead, he could give his supporters each-way hope at what are likely to be decent odds. Mud Monkey has bits and pieces of decent form over two miles though is unproven over today's extra half mile. Yeoman Spirit should be a fair price and he is accordingly nominated
