In this very competitive 'Pertemps' Qualifier, Olaso gets the call ahead of Carly's Quest and Fair Question. Maybe Olaso can step up here. He looked useful as a novice and ran his best race yet when third to Standin Obligation in a Cheltenham Listed Handicap last time. Lightly-raced, there should be more to come. Grade 1 winner Carly's Quest would have to be considered based on that type of April 2005 form; Rooftop Protest has a career-high mark to defy - as does Monolith - and might be better on better going; having previously looked progressive, Magnifico disappointed when stepped up in class last time; the formerly useful Inching Closer needs to turn back the clock, but is on a fair mark if able to; Hidden Bounty has been running well this season and earns respect, while you can never entirely rule out a good run from Martin Pipe's Liberman. Kivotos remains progressive and this course and distance winner is another to respect, while Fair Queston improved markedly for a step up in trip last time and also earns respect. Drumbeater is another that looks young and progressive and gets a positive mention but, overall, in a cracking good race, we will side with Olaso.
