In depth
Verdict
GUILDHALL and City Tour ran in separate divisions of the same novices race in heavy ground at Ayr last month. The latter ran well but found one too good while the former kept on strongly for a narrow-margin success. Ralph Beckett’s colt is taken to improve further over today’s longer trip. Elysian Flame also ran at Ayr n his debut and finished a modest sixth. He’s preferred to stablemate and newcomer Tabou Beach Boy but Coup De Gold was expected to do better at Newbury on his latest start. Fair Alibi is related to winners on Dirt in North America and makes his racecourse debut.
