Verdict
Pacific Pride looks well handicapped after a spell in the doldrums and he can make it back-to-back wins here, while Obe Gold and Against The Grain look to be the dangers. The selection was once considered good enough to turn out in a Gimcrack, but has since plummeted through the weights and won off 77 last time out at Ripon. Fast ground suits and with confidence finally regained he can defy a 2lb higher mark and go in again. Obe Gold is another who is much lower in the handicap than in the past, and he too has conditions and trip to suit. He is now 2lb better off for half a length with the selection on their Ripon running, so he can narrow the gap even more. Against The Grain won ob soft over 7f at Doncaster and while he would probably prefer cut he has gone well without winning on faster ground and should be thereabouts. Distinctly Game and Imperial Echo just look a little too high in the weights at present and we¿ll take Pacific Pride to score.
