Formwatch
Young Kenny Smart staying chaser who won the 1999 Scottish Grand National; needs to run well to confirm his position near the head of ante-post lists for this season's Martell Grand National at Aintree; soft ground definitely in his favour; bold show from the front anticipated.
Take Control (IRE) Bids to emulate the 1998 impressive winner Dom Samurai from the same yard; lightly raced and open to improvement.
The Last Fling (IRE) Chucked at the weights racing off a 5lb lower mark than when landing this corresponding event last season; very strong claims.
Jocks Cross (IRE) Winner of the Welsh National at Chepstow in December and not badly treated if able to reproduce that piece of form.
Hanakham (IRE) Landed the Royal & SunAlliance Chase in 1997 when trained by Martin Pipe but has had his problems since. It remains to be seen whether he retains sufficient ability to feature at this level.
Browjoshy (IRE) Not an easy horse to assess but was clearly in good heart when successful at Warwick last time; looks capable of improvement over the longer trip.
Moral Support (IRE) Very progressive chaser this season with every chance at the weights of reversing Welsh National form with Jocks Cross.
Royal Predica (FR) Not the most fluent of jumpers and pretty high in the weights but rule out Mr Pipe at your peril.
Tullymurry Toff (IRE) Racing off an 8lb lower mark than when well beaten in this race last term; becoming frustrating.
Streamstown (IRE) Ex-Irish horse who is held in high regard by connections; reportedly being aimed at the Grand National at Aintree and strong claims of at least confirming Wetherby form with Tullymurry Toff.
You're Agoodun Novice who has recorded two wins at Hereford this season; plenty to prove at this level.
Frantic Tan (IRE) Holds an entry in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and looks very much on the upgrade judged on a recent win at Newbury over Behrajan.
Atavistic (IRE) Lively outsider who has won five races from just 11 starts over fences to date.
No Retreat (NZ) From a stable that is starting to fire after a largely disappointing season to date; improvement required to feature.
Hollybank Buck (IRE) Irish challenger who has yet to recapture his old form this season; not one to dismiss lightly in a very open renewal, especially if the money is down.
Supreme Glory (IRE) Trip and ground in his favour and holds a decent each-way chance.
Eltigri (FR) Returned from a lengthy absence to win here over shorter last time. Trainer fares well with his staying chasers, eg. Rough Quest and Even Flow.
Radiation (IRE) Stays well but stiff task at this level.
