          Verdict

          CHEVETON beat Hoof It in this 12 months ago and is only a pound higher today. Richard Price's seven-year-old came right back to form when landing last week's Ayr Silver Cup and could easily score again with Dale Swift's claim halving the 6lb weight rise. Racy has been knocking on the door and looks the pick of Kevin Ryan's three runners, while Master Rooney is also worth a second look. He beat Hazelrigg at Beverley in July and is weighted to reverse last month's Doncaster form with Secret Witness. Confessional seems to prefer faster ground nowadays, while Foxy Music is better on a turning track but the three-year-old Steps could be interesting back over 5f with Roger Varian's yard still in good form.
