    Verdict

The market spoke positively about Spend A Penny ahead of his debut at Hamilton and John Quinn's colt is sure to be winning soon, though MALJAA holds entries in the top sales races and he could be good enough to strike on his first outing. A half-brother to last season's Hilary Needler winner, Ventura Mist, there's every reason to believe that Roger Varian's raider will cope with the prevailing going. Doctor Kehoe has a pedigree that suggests he will be better over further and Richard Fahey's gelding is noted with handicaps in mind. The well-bred Pallister is of interest given his sire is a noted soft ground influence, and his dam was a very smart juvenile in her day. Tom Dascombe sent out the winner of this race back in 2010 so any market confidence behind Snap Shots should not be ignored.
