Verdict
POWER KING is the selection in this stayers' handicap chase, while Earcomesannie and Terrible Tenant should go well enough. The David Pipe-trained selection is lightly-raced and open to further improvement, which may be hastened by the application of first-time cheek pieces today. This has famously worked this season with stablemate Madison Du Berlais and while Power King may not have his ability he certainly gave the impression that there would be more to come when gradually being wound up to win at Kempton with some aplomb last time. Good ground suits, so we hope that he will be fine on today's going, and an 8lb rise does not look insurmountable. Earcomesannie has been given a break since falling at Doncaster in December and she loves fast ground and this sort of trip. She can go well fresh, although she hasn't yet won immedately after an absence and from this mark we will take her on. Terrible Tenant is a danger. He stays this far, acts on the ground and also goes well at the track. He is back on a winning mark and is much respected. Thenameescapesme goes on any ground and is 3lbs lower than his last win, which came over hurdles. He does, however, have to prove his stamina over this trip. Course and distance winner Super Judge should go well enough but is fully exposed and Power King is a confident choice.
