Evan Williams took this last year and fellow Welshman Tim Vaughan can emulate him here with SILVERGINO, while Thievery and Bayberry King can also go well. The selection has gone up 9lb for a 10 length Southwell win exactly one month ago, where he was enterprisingly ridden. The rise in the weights will test him here, but it is not a good race and with confidence high and the yard still going well he might just be good enough. Thievery won on similar ground over this trip at Warwick last time and strangely enough he gets in here from a 1lb lower mark. He does enjoy it here, with a course and distance win to his name, and he is much respected. Bayberry King is sent chasing for the first time here but has a very stiff task on debut, carrying top weight and also unproven on the ground. It is hard to enthuse about much else, though Ground Breaker has at least won recently before flopping on his last two starts, and with the ground probably too soft for him we'll take Silvergino to score.
