In depth

Verdict

Miss Midnight gets the vote in the finale with Honour's Dream and General Smith also considered. The selection certainly deserves to resume winning ways as she has gone close on each of her last 3 starts. She looks as though she is capable of winning off her current mark and with the ground in her favour she looks the most likely winner. General Smith is another consistent type but he is better on a faster surface and on that basis he is worth taking on today. Honour's Dream has been running well but the suspicion is that the handicapper may now have his measure. Caliban is from a shrewd yard and he can go well at a price, but for the winner we will stick with the admirably consistent Miss Midnight.
