In depth
Verdict
Court Shareef did not show much when tried over hurdles in 1999 and, while there was improvement at Worcester recently, he does not seem to be totally in love with the "winter game" so a chance is taken with Maldoun, who has more potential than either Knight of Silver or Champagne Harry. The selection had some respectable form on the level in France and is sure to know what is required on his debut over hurdles for Martin Pipe. Court Shareef is by far the best of these on the flat but, as already stated has looked far from convincing over timber to date. Champagne Harry is held by Richard Price's gelding on running at Worcester, while Knight Of Silver is no better than plated class.
