In depth

Verdict

A big field here but plenty of them have very little chance and the principals look to be Tosula, Lago and Baron Blitzkrieg and the vote goes to Lago. Richard Lee has his runners in good nick and Lago is a real genuine sort who does his best work over this sort of trip. All ground seems to come alike to him, and he has won right handed around Carlisle, so there is plenty in his favour. Tosula won an egg and spoon race at Taunton last time and steps up in trip to this far for the first time. He should get home on ground he will like, but a 9lb rise will make this very tough and he looks opposable. Baron Blitzkreig is a previous c&d scorer, his sole win in 19 starts. He showed a bit of form at Leicester last time but he is hardly reliable. Glen Thyne is back on a decent mark again and has frame claims, but with very little making appeal we'll take Lago to score.
