In depth
Verdict
Plenty of runners, but little strength in depth. Dual hurdles winner Metal Detector has it all to do over this shorter trip, with his double penalty, while Mr Ed, a useful stayer on the flat, will be more at home over this trip rather than the extended two miles he faced at Taunton. Joyeuse is an interesting newcomer to hurdles. The winner of a bumper at Market Rasen, she is well worth a look if the market speaks in her favour. However, the selection is Fragrant Rose, whose win over this course has been made to look sound by the success of four of the beaten runners that day.
