Verdict

For Jim is one of several course and distance winners in this and he was well backed when fourth last time at Uttoxeter. Dropped another 4lb since, he must have a chance in a race like this. Almost Gold will have needed his reappearance and is back on the same mark as when second at Huntingdon last season. Classical Milano and Apache Pilot can never be ignored around here but Dee Star seems best at Cartmel. Dutch Canyon couldn’t match a race-fit rival at Perth in July but that was a pleasing reappearance and he could be ready to add to his two victories already over fences, though CAPTAIN MOWBRAY has also had a run and may just be the better treated today.
