        Verdict

Although not set in stone, Monolith is a fairly solid selection against the likes of Great Oaks, You're My Angel and Red Square Dawn in a large but mainly uninspiring field. Monolith has been quietly brought along by Len Lungo, having had three outings over hurdles since winning on the Flat at Windsor for Amanda Perrett in 2001. He raced against the useful Our Armageddon at Carlise last time and although unfancied, shaped well in sixth. He will be more at home in this company and can open his account before eventually going chasing.
