Tim Vaughan's Letham Island disappointed at Hereford last time having won well at Lingfield the time before and may struggle to defy top weight in a race taken to go to BAMBY, who gets the vote with Nevsky Bridge looking the best of the rest. The selection has run to a consistent level of form in recent starts, was not beaten far by Raysrock at Ayr last time and he looks worth backing off just a 1lb higher mark today especially with the yard of Sue Smith really among the winners now. James Moffatt's Devils Delight has a nice racing weight but she has been a beaten favourite in her last two starts and she cannot be backed with great confidence off the same mark as last time. Chip N Pin ran better at Carlisle last time in October and Tim Easterby's runners are beginning to hit form now so she has to be strongly considered, while Tharaya looks to have too much weight for what she has achieved so far and looks best left out of calculations. Bollin Fiona has run well in her last two starts but has harshly been raised by the handicapper and a bigger threat is likely to come from Martin Todhunter's Nevsky Bridge, who lost no caste in defeat behind Hi Dancer at Newcastle recently and can race off the same mark today. The vote though goes the way of Bamby, who can give Sue Smith another winner.
