Verdict
There are many in with chances here, and only a narrow vote goes to Acceleration over Royal Glen, Nocatee, and Spree Vision who are just a few more possibles. The fact that Acceleration has a recent win to his credit gives us hope that Dick Allan's charge should at least give another good account. He was backed at big odds when scoring at Kelso in May, coming from off the pace to nab We'll Meet Again close home, and as long as he responds to the tongue-tie again, a follow up is not out of the question. He holds Royal Glen on that form, although the latter has since scored here himself, and he should at least hold last year's winner of this event, Feanor. Nocatee ran out of steam when trying to make all here last time and the drop back in trip should help his cause, while Spree Vision bids to go one better than when second last year, but might find conditions too lively today. Celtic Blaze will be fit from a recent outing on the Flat, but is hard to fancy, and the market may throw up a springer in a wide-open contest, but our tentative choice remains Acceleration.
