In depth
Verdict
Dhaudeloup was a classy individual before his absence and Richard Fahey can bring him back to defy Why The Long Face and Bodfari Signet. Dhaudeloup was a very useful hurdler in his day and was rated in excess of 130 over the discipline and finished third in the Swinton Hurdle to Mirjan in the 2000 renewal of the race. The fact that connections have been prepared to wait three years for a return to the track signifies how well he is regarded at home. Why The Long Face is another unexposed type from the Richard Guest stable. He has ability albeit mixed with the tendency to clout the odd one or two. Bodfari Signet loves fast ground although he would have made more appeal had this been over two miles. Tee Jay has winning form around here. He was a disappointing favourite at Wetherby and this may be reflected in the price. Always Rainbows always threatens to win a race but frequently flatters to deceive in finishes. Dhaudeloup is the one for us.
