Verdict

Course and distance winner It's A Roofer has been unplaced in his last two outings over fences and looks best left out of calculations even in this grade in a race taken to go to ROXNIC, who gets the vote with Peters Star rated the best of the rest. The selection was beaten in this grade when last seen under rules but has shown improved form in point-to-points recently and he looks worth siding with coming from the in-form Tim Vaughan stable. Jim Best's Canni Thinkaar is capable but ran below par at Uttoxeter earlier this month and he may struggle under his big weight. Maurice Barnes has his string in fair form so Follow On has to be considered but needs to improve and of more interest may be Peters Star. Don McCain's gelding has not been at his best in recent outings but this represents a big drop in class for the eight-year-old and he makes more appeal than stable companion Root Cause. Roznic has shown decent form between the flags of late though and can give Tim Vaughan another winner.
