Monte Rosa can carry top-weight to victory here, Parisienne Gale and Nobody's Perfect look to be the main rivals. The Nicky Richards trained seven-year-old is very lightly raced, she has only had three outings under rules but showed enough at Kelso earlier this month to suggest she can win a race of this nature. She plugged on at the one pace to finish third behind Hernando's Boy and is open to any amount of improvement. Nobodys Perfect is still a maiden but has gone close on numerous occasions. The handicapper isn't relenting and a place is probably on the cards again. Parisienne Gale was in great form last Autumn and if in the same mood following a four month break she should be in there at the finish. The pick of the others could be Feanor, but Monte Rosa could turn into quite a decent racehorse and she gets the verdict this afternoon.
