Verdict
Manoubi can defy topweight at the expense of Adolphus, Yankee Holiday and Gipsy Cricketer to name but three. Manoubi had the distinction of beating Inglis Drever on the level at Hamilton three years ago, but since leaving Sir Michael Stoute, he has not really hit the heights over hurdles. However, he has shown a bit of promise since going chasing, and will be all the better for his last run at Cartmel. That was over much further, and to be fair he shaped well in second place, so with less distance to hump 11st 12lb around, he is taken to come good. Adolphus was brought down in the Aintree Foxhunter, and will be all the better for a run between the flags, while Yankee Holiday looks like he needs more of a test on the evidence so far. Gipsy Cricketer has kept good company throughout the summer though, and it would be no surprise if he were to be involved in the finish. Nothing really stands out here, and only a small vote of confidence goes the way of Manoubi.
