Verdict
St Pirran has been given a chance by the handicapper on his first start since leaving Paul Nicholls but Richard Guest's gelding has a long absence to overcome and may be best watched so preference is for Mister Arjay, who gets the vote over Mexican Pete. The last mentioned ran on well when making a winning return over course and distance a month ago but is now 7lbs higher in the weights and is probably best watched. Tom George's Tulipa stepped up on previous form this term at Plumpton last month and may have further improvement to come, while a market move for Scalloway would be of interest. Progressive gave little sign for encouragement on his return over fences last month and is probably best watched, while Ziggy Zen may need the run after a break. The vote then goes to Mister Arjay, who ran right up to his best behind Xellance at Uttoxeter last month and has an obvious chance if able to reproduce that form.
