Verdict

With doubts concerning most of his rivals, Phildari looks the one to be on here and gets the verdict over Jefertiti and Lord of The Hill. The last mentioned has a 7lb penalty to carry for his last time out win at Hereford and has to race from out of the weights proper so looks worth taking on, while Jefertiti was well beaten by a moderate performer in Another Joker at Hereford when last seen and has an absence since May to overcome. Genuine Article has been off since July 2001 and it is impossible to know how much ability he retains, while Orlando Sunrise refused to race last time and is hardly a betting proposition. In the absence of any worthwhile alternatives the vote has to go to Phildari, who may appreciate the return to this trip having seemingly failed to stay three miles here last time.
