In depth
Verdict
This looks a desperate race in which we will make Imperative our tentative choice, with April Miss, Niembro and Dear Sir the others for the shortlist. The selection ran beyond expectations when second behind Valance on this track last time out. He ran green that day but showed a good attitude and may be capable of taking a race of this nature. Dear Sir could represent the main danger on his third behind Fattaan at Exeter. That was a decent effort and he is unlikely to be too far away at the finish. Niembro has been a bit disappointing so far and was well beaten behind Retail Therapy here earlier in the month, but easing ground could bring about some improvement. April Miss is another that has place claims as she has been fairly consistent to date, although she was well beaten by Alpha Rose here last month. This is a contest which won't take much winning, so we are happy to side with the likely improver Imperative.
