Verdict
A competitive field goes to post for this handicap chase and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Tremallt, Montreal, Hurricane Lamp and Hit Royal and the vote goes to Tremallt. The selection is a bold jumping front runner and he was a good second behind Lord Of The River last time a reproduction of that effort would make him hard to beat despite top weight.Montreal rates the main danger on his best form as he has conditions to suit but he took a heavy fall in the Grand National and it remains to be seen if his confidence has been effected. Hurricane Lamp is also worthy of respect but he has never won over a trip this far before and for that reason is opposed. Hit Royal is another that has conditions to suit and he was a fair second behind Royal Beluga last time but he just gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him so for the winner we return to Tremalt.
