In depth

Verdict

Heisse has run to a similar level of consistency in his last two starts and is again entitled to be thereabouts but marginal preference in a moderate race is for Formal Cliche, with Bowdlane Barb rated the best of the rest. The selection lost no caste in defeat behind Cha Cha Cha Dancer at Newcastle under testing conditions last time and with nothing of that calibre and better ground to help, he looks the one to beat. Lazy Lena has claims on the pick of her form but is inconsistent, while Wondersobright is hard to recommend on recent evidence. Rebelling is similarly out of form and of more interest may be Bowdlane Barb, who has run better of late. Formal Cliche has solid claims on the evidence of his latest start though and he is preferred.
