In depth

Verdict

Half of this field comprises four-year-olds and one of the younger generation, HESTINA (NAP), should take all the beating. Twice a winner over 1m4f on the Flat, she’s been steadily coming to hand over timber and only had to be pushed out to score easily at Ludlow two weeks ago. Hint Of Grey is also improving, however, and overturned subsequent winner Miss Little Poet at Sedgefield last time after beating another hot favourite at Fakenham. Royal Debutante does most of her racing here and has place claims again, along with Alizee Javilex, but Fool To Cry hasn’t raced since surrendering her unbeaten record on softer ground at Sedgefield in November.
