Verdict

This is a potentially-informative novices’ hurdle which sees the reappearance of high-class bumper winner Daphne Du Clos. She beat a gelding now rated 150 over hurdles at Newbury a couple of years ago and fitness shouldn’t be an issue. But SCARLET DRAGON looks a formidable opponent as he was very highly tried in two runs over hurdles last season and is fit from the all-weather. Placed in Group 3 company on the Flat, he may have too much pace for the Henderson mare. Points winner Monsieur D'Arque was pitched in at the deep end at Cheltenham and has plenty of scope. Kingofthecotswolds and Sermando are also unexposed while Fakenham maiden winner Havana Hermano is on an upward curve, though faces a stiff task under a penalty.
