    Verdict

Kalahari King is the best horse in the race and while he did win first time out last season, it is with reluctance that we offer our vote to NOBLE ALAN. Nicky Richards' inmate was far from disgraced on a recent pipeopener over hurdles and despite racing at 2lb wrong in the weights, today will tell connections plenty as to where the future lies. Connections are still yet to be confident about Kalahari King's best trip. He will do well to win this if the race reverts to a predictable crawl. I'm Delilah looks set to ensure that this is not the case. Gringo was at listed level over hurdles whilst Cantgeton is 26lb wrong at the weights with the topweight and faces a quite literal uphill struggle.
