Verdict
Encore Champs is back in the right grade after running in a Grade 2 at Ascot and beat LORD YEATS more than three lengths off level weights at Wetherby the time before. But Jedd O’Keeffe’s useful Flat performer was too keen that day and showed the benefit of that experience when winning easily at Sedgefield on Boxing Day – it would be no surprise if he had his revenge today. Rollerruler was a huge price when third here last month and needs to raise his game again but is still preferred to Mint Gold. Skiddaw Valleys won three times on the Flat but has been off the track for an extended period and may need this.
