Verdict
PYRACANTHA appeals as the type to blossom in this discipline and he's the suggestion ahead of Rollwiththepunches and Twentynineblack. The market will prove useful with those to have run open to improvement and the newcomers unknown quantities. Alan Swinbank has produced a number of smart bumper performers in recent seasons and the Flat-bred Pyracantha certainly looks the right type on paper. Rollwiththepunches ran on strongly at Doncaster and should be all the better for that experience. A number of interesting sorts went to post for that race and it could turn out to be a fair contest. Twentynineblack failed to build on the promise of his debut when a beaten favourite at Catterick but cannot be written off on the back of that performance with Jason Maguire taking the ride for the first time. Those are three names to consider but the market may help throw up a few more; Pyracantha is the pick at present.
