Verdict
SMOKEY RYE might be the lowest rated horse in the race but is on form and has a huge weight advantage over the field so she looks likely ahead of Jake The Snake and Blue Sky Thinking. The selection has a good record at this venue but her last time out victory came over distance at Lingfield. The form from that win is not yet confirmed but looks as if it might work out and she showed enough to show races of this type is right up her street. In addition to her claims the form from her penultimate effort is solid. Jake The Snake takes a big drop down in class here after running with credit in some fair looking handicaps and the form from his last time out third at Lingfield works out well - he should be in the mix of things at the sharp end of things here. Blue Sky Thinking has returned from a break picking up from where he left off in 2007. He posted a four timer that year before returning in 2008 with a victory and it all amounts to him being well treated in this contest after another rest. Murfreesboro has to be considered as he's well in, in the weights, compared to if this was a handicap but Smokey Rye has the form on her side.
