        Verdict

        The prolific Mutual Regard is finding life tough this season off a 12lb higher mark but that's not to say he won't improve for today's extra distance. He has obvious claims but a chance is taken on PERENNIAL returning to form. A broken blood vessel was responsible for a poor showing at Newmarket last time but he has untapped potential over today's trip and is dropped in class for this. Cosimo De Medici never figured at Ascot last month but had beaten Danvilla when runner-up at Goodwood before that while Dark Ranger has slipped down the weights and makes more appeal than Spice Fair and Presto Volante.
