In depth
Verdict
Lords Best has already shown a useful level of ability of hurdles and is the TEAMtalk choice to make a winning reappearance. Alan King's charge finished runner-up in novice events at Ludlow and Exeter before a creditable third in a valuable conditions event over this trip at Cheltenham on his final start in April. The six-year-old is well suited by give in the ground and should take the beating against inferior rivals. General Gossip was a tired horse when falling at the last on his latest outing but would have strong claims if back to the same level of form that saw him finish an honourable second behind a smart performer at Sandown in March. Both Dantes Venture and Phildari have something to find on form but hold a fitness advantage and should not be dismissed lightly in an interesting contest.
