Verdict

DUKE OF CLARENCE was a losing odds-on favourite at Wolverhampton last week and gets first-time blinkers applied today. Richard Hannon's colt found one too good last time but should be opening his account here as this looks his easiest opportunity to date. Distant Love could prove best of the opposition on her first start since July as the others with experience have yet to show any worthwhile form, though Optimism is worth noting on her debut as she's related to a couple of all-weather winners.
