Verdict

Reel Gift, Red Alert Day and Fred's Lad are shortlisted in a competitive contest to open the card and the vote is given to Reel Gift. The selection is a course and distance winner and this lightly-raced filly has certainly shown enough on her two starts so far to make her of serious interest here. She chased home Visit in this grade last time and as she is proven on the surface she should take plenty of beating today. The only negative would be that she is not ideally drawn. Red Alert Day was hampered last time at Newmarket when second behind Dan Tucket so under the circumstances that was a decent effort. He has more on his plate today but he is entitled to go well. Fred's Lad ran well at Chester last time but he is better over the minimum trip and for that reason he is taken on today. Sporting Art has won both of his starts so far and he does have a good draw so he could prove best of the remainder, but Reel Gift looks a really progressive type and she stands out as the one to beat.
