In depth

Verdict

Gifted Gamble has the ability to win a race of this nature and is selected in preference to Adeje park and Marshman, while Grimes Faith is interesting back over this trip and is worth noting for signs of betting support. Grimes Faith handles this course well and each-way thieves could do worse than consider Richard Hannon's charge capable of causing an upset. Marshman has dropped to a winning mark and is much better than recent form figures would suggest. Mark Tompkins' charge handles the All Weather and it would come as no surprise to see him turn back the clock and post an improved display in this company. Adeje Park hinted at a return to form at Lingfield last month and, as a seven furlong specialist, Peter Chapple-Hyam's representative can be expected to be involved in the thick of the action. However, he does look vulnerable under top weight and he needs luck on his side. Therefore, we switch to the well handicapped Gifted Gamble, who looked to be crying out for an extra furlong at Catterick just over a month ago. A draw in stall nine gives the gelding every chance of gaining a prominent position at an early stage and, with Joe Fanning being one of the more tactically astute jockeys on the current scene, the selection can be guaranteed to gain every assistance in the saddle today.
